Tasting Notes
Brisk purple with a lively fruit, I could have believed that there was some whole bunch component. Some interesting orange zest at the back alongside the red berries. Leave it for a year or two and then this will make a very pleasing Bourgogne Rouge. - Jasper Morris, Inside Burgundy
Winemaker's Notes
The vineyards have been shaped over the centuries by the Dukes of Burgundy, by monks and by winegrowers. A bottle of Burgundy is a piece of French heritage. I have chosen to claim Bourgogne Rouge on the labels and not Bourgogne Côte d’or or Bourgogne Pinot noir. My opinion is that the latter two appellations impose unsustainable methods of production, whereas the Bourgogne Blanc appellation allows us to work in a more virtuous way, such as with semi-hardy plantations for example.
