The 2024 Laya is 70% Garnacha Tintorera and 30% Monastrell from Almansa. Slightly reductive at first, it reveals red fruit, subtle florals and a sanguine blood orange core. The palate is grippy, with a chalky sensation and slightly unruly tannins. Amply built and well crafted.

Winemaker Notes

A peculiar wine that combines complexity, structure and an intense covered cherry red color. Elegant, fresh and complex nose where ripe fruits and floral notes are appreciated. Pleasant and fresh entry on the palate, balanced and with sweet tannins, although youthful, unctuous and enveloping, with an original and interesting mid palate and a long finish.

State vineyards located between 2,300 and 3,300 feet above sea level on poor, sandy soils rich in limestone. Vineyards are dry-farmed, without the use of pesticides or herbicides, and the grapes are hand harvested. The wine ferments in stainless steel and then ages for 4 months in French oak barrels.
