Brotte Les Hauts de Barville CDP Rouge 2023 - 750ml
Brotte Les Hauts de Barville CDP Rouge 2023 - 750ml
93pts Wine Spectator
A showy, enticing red, with melted licorice draped over linzer torte, black pepper and rooibos tea. Suave, with black tea tannins holding a gentle but solid grip, while bolts of iron keep this grounded. Approachable now, this will only improve with time in bottle. Grenache, Syrah and Mourvèdre. Best from 2026 through 2038.

Black cherries, spicy herbs, leather, and loamy earth all emerge from the 2023 Châteauneuf Du Pape Domaine Barville, a beautifully balanced, elegant, medium to full-bodied Châteauneuf du Pape based on 90% Grenache and 10% Syrah. It has ripe tannins, the ripe yet fresher style of the vintage, and a great finish.

The 2023 Brotte Domaine Barville Châteauneuf-du-Pape Rouge shows a medium ruby hue and opens with alluring aromas of exotic spices and ripe red berries. Crafted from a classic Southern Rhône blend—predominantly Grenache, with Syrah and Mourvèdre—this wine offers a smooth, layered palate framed by firm yet refined tannins. Grenache brings generosity and red fruit purity, while Syrah and Mourvèdre lend depth and structure. A natural companion to Navarin d’Agneau, the Provençal lamb stew rich in herbs and warmth. 91pts James Suckling
A mellow, dense and fruit-driven Châteauneuf-du-Pape with dark cherries, ripe plums and sweet spices on the nose. It’s full-bodied with fine tannins. Fleshy but in control, with a vivid finish.
Winemaker Notes
Ruby color with a violet sheen. Marked by its terroir on the nose with spices, black pepper, lavender, black cherries and blackberries. Elegant, well-balanced, full-bodied, and powerful with persistent notes of red fruit and garrigue. This wine offers a great tasting pleasure.
Enjoy with braised meat with black olives, beef tartare with bearnaise sauce, foil truffle foie gras, or chocolate cake.
