Tasting Notes

An intensely aromatic and scintillating Sauvignon Blanc from one of the best vintages ever in Paso Robles. Scents of ripe pear, grapefruit, lemon and freshly cut grass meld seamlessly with suggestions of key lime zest, guava, melon and tropical rain forest. The palate is lush, clean and balanced with generous flavors of kiwi, quince, Granny Smith apple and passionfruit. Trailing accents of Crenshaw melon, lemongrass and nectarine flood the mouth with juicy elegance, while a clean, exuberant finish lingers with lovely nuances of white peach, green apple and Asian pear.

The DAOU Sauvignon Blanc exhibits abundant varietal character and also reflects our founding passion for classic Bordeaux varieties. This Sauvignon Blanc belongs to our DAOU Collection—a line of wines dedicated to showcasing the regional excellence of Paso Robles on California’s Central Coast. Since DAOU’s founding in 2007, we have developed longstanding relationships with leading local growers, enabling us to produce wines that capture the essence of Paso Robles.

Vineyard Notes

DAOU Sauvignon Blanc comes predominantly from our favorite vineyards in the Highlands District AVA and El Pomar District AVA of Paso Robles. The Highlands District’s high elevations and intense diurnal temperature shifts produce a wine that balances ripe flavors with fine acidity. The more moderate conditions of the El Pomar District tease out pure varietal character in the Sauvignon Blanc fruit. Together, these AVAs create a multifaceted expression of Paso Robles-grown Sauvignon Blanc. 

Grape Varietal: 100% Sauvignon Blanc
