The 2020 Dehesa La Granja Vino de la Tierra de Castilla Y Leon shows a deep, extracted ruby color and opens with heady aromas of black fruits, warm spices, and a touch of caramel; full-bodied and firmly packed on the palate, it delivers intensity and structure with noticeable, still-resolving tannins, while dark fruit and spice notes carry through a finish that tightens with excellent authority—best alongside a soy-braised pork belly or Chinese red-cooked beef, where the wine’s grip and richness meet the dish’s depth and savory intensity.

Sweet spices, vanilla, balsam, pine cone and a touch of oyster sauce to the black plums and blackberries. Flavorful and full on the palate with some granular tannins that linger in the lengthy finish, with lots of flattering wood spices and dark chocolate. Goes on for quite a while. From organically grown grapes. Drink from 2025.

Winemaker Notes

Clear and bright red wine, with an intense ruby-red color. High intensity on the nose with red fruit, cherry and toasted and roasted aromas. Tasty and fruity on the palate, it’s reminiscent of licorice with toasted notes of toffee and vanilla. It has a marked degree of acidity and tannins, giving it body and a persistent finish. Long-lasting aftertaste of intense red fruits. Wood well integrated with the notes characteristic of ageing in American oak barrels, particularly vanilla and roasted notes.
