93pts Jeb Dunnuck
Based on 70% Grenache, 15% Syrah, and 15% Mourvèdre from galets roulés, sable/safre, and clay-loam soils, the 2023 Châteauneuf Du Pape was partially destemmed and aged in a mix of foudre, demi-muids, and neutral barrels. It offers gorgeous red and black fruits, peppery garrigue, loamy earth, and some cured meat notes. Medium to full-bodied, it has a concentrated, layered mid-palate, ripe, nicely integrated tannins, and outstanding length. This serious, classic cuvée does everything right and will shine over the coming 10-15 years. Drink 2025-2040.
93pts Wine Spectator
Balances its round, rich profile with a vivid mix of dry spices and rose, plus earthy undertones of tobacco and wet leaves. Stays bright and vivacious despite the weighty ripeness, with grainy tannins and shaved graphite holding everything in place. Grenache, Syrah and Mourvèdre. Drink now through 2038.
Winemaker Notes
Offering a complex nose with hints of crushed raspberry, licorice and graphite. The mouth is round with an excellent balance and a nice finish.
