93pts John Gilman

The Boudots 2017 was one of the wines where Jean-Nicolas Méo decided to include some stems, so the wine is twelve percent whole clusters this year. It is a fine, fine wine in the making, offering up a complex aromatic constellation of sweet dark berries, black cherries, woodsmoke, pigeon, a touch of sweet stem spice, dark soil tones and cedary oak. On the palate the wine is pure, full-bodied and nicely structured, with excellent mid-palate depth, fine focus and grip and a long, very well balanced and ripely tannic finish. This has more of the customary structural chassis one expects from the domaine’s two Nuits premier crus, so will need a couple more years in the cellar to blossom than the Murgers 2017, but it is going to be excellent. 2027- 2065+. 91-93pts Robert Parker's Wine Advocate

The 2017 Nuits-Saint-Georges 1er Cru Les Boudots wafts from the glass with a classy bouquet of cassis, plums, cinnamon and dark chocolate. On the palate, the wine is medium to full-bodied, deep and layered, with velvety tannins, a deep core of sapid fruit and lovely structural tension, concluding with a long and youthfully firm finish. Fermented with some 12% stems, this is one of the longer-term prospects in the Méo cellar. Longtime fans of Domaine Méo-Camuzet will be delighted by the 2017 vintage at this address, as the domaine has produced an attractive collection of charming, supple wines that are beautifully defined by site but which will also be unusually approachable out of the gates. While many of the wines had been racked not long before my tasting, they were still expressive, and I suspect they will prove even more satiny and gourmand in bottle. Méo began picking on September 6, finishing just over a week later. Like many others, he reports that the wines fleshed out considerably during élevage and is thinking of bottling them a little earlier than usual. (WK) (1/2019)

90-93pts Allen Meadows - Burghound

An overtly floral and spice-infused nose reflects notes of various dark berries and earth. Once again there is a highly attractive texture to the medium-bodied flavors that don't yet possess the same complexity though there is even better persistence to the somewhat more structured finale. My sense is that this will add more depth with age and will eventually surpass the Murgers.(1/2019)

90-92pts Vinous

The 2017 Nuits Saint-Georges Les Boudots 1er Cru contains around 10% stems that are added into the vat (rather than the whole bunches entering the vessel). The attractive, well-defined bouquet features vibrant black cherries, blueberry and crushed stone aromas, all precise and focused. The palate is medium-bodied with a supple entry and plenty of red fruit laced with brown spices. Quite elegant and charming, just needing a little more grip to come through on the finish but otherwise very fine. (NM) (1/2019)
