More Mourvèdre-dominated, the 2022 Veracity is 54% Mourvèdre, 28% Grenache, and 18% Syrah that was all destemmed and aged 17 months in 40% new puncheons and barrels. Ripe black raspberries, spicy herbs, pepper, and subtle leather notes all emerge from this beauty, and it's medium to full-bodied, has a pure, seamless mouthfeel, fabulous overall balance, and a great finish. It’s going to shine over the coming decade and is beautifully done.

Dark and dense in the glass, this blend of 54% Mourvèdre, 28% Grenache and 18% Syrah hits the nose with aromas of boysenberry, violet, black cherry and cola that roll out in unending waves. The palate is creamy in texture and exuberant in expression, offering elegant rosewater elements that tuck into baked strawberry, caramel and coffee flavors. A hint of bitterness offsets the lush finish.

Winemaker Notes

With a bit more Mourvèdre than in the past, the 2022 Veracity is full and velvety smooth with notes of earth, roasted herbs, violet/lavender, hibiscus, kirsch, naval orange, black licorice, autumn forest, cracked pepper, and steely minerals.  With two waves of lushness – in the front and again on the back palate – sensation is fluid and even, without any areas lingering out of balance.  Tannins are broad, chewy, and ripe, elongating the mouthfeel and making the wine approachable now, however, it is sure to reveal more nuance with time in the bottle.
