A benchmark unfiltered LBV port showing very good concentration, depth and structure. Huge amounts of sweet blackberries, cocoa beans and hints of licorice, pepper and spices on the nose and palate. Almost full-bodied, with dark fruit and dark chocolate. Tight, dusty tannins in the finish. Very good value.

Polished and forward in feel, with a caressing wave of dark chocolate, plum cake and fig preserves laced with a twinge of licorice root on the finish. Drink now through 2030. 

Winemaker Notes

This wine shows fresh, black fruit and dark cherry aromas and flavors, with spice notes. This concentrated, structured wine has great volume and mouthfeel, with fine length on the finish.

An excellent pairing with full-flavored cheeses, especially blue cheeses, and with dark chocolate or fresh berry desserts. This wine is unfiltered and should be decanted because of sediment in the bottle.
