92pts Burghound

An overtly citrus-inflected nose reflects additional notes of green apple, tidal pool, quinine and shrimp shell. The fleshy, delicious and attractively textured flavors that retain fine delineation on the punch, youthfully austere and complex finale. This is an excellent villages and worth your interest.

91pts Vinous

The 2021 Chablis Village was picked as low as 20hl/ha in some parcels that were severely affected by frost. Nevertheless, it has a fresh and vibrant bouquet with fine mineralité and vivacity. "Classic Chablis" as Didier Picq tells me with what I am sure is a grin. The palate is fresh and taut, a fine saline undercurrent with a sharp and quite harmonious finish. You don't find Chablis-Village much better than this in 2021.

Importer Notes

From a collection of hillside vineyards set on limestone-clay soils with vines averaging 20 years in age all from the commune of Chichee.

Normally this comes from 12 parcels and is invariably chock full of flinty seashell essence, making it a quintessential Chablis.

Tasting Notes

With yields kept very low, this village level Chablis has the breeding of a premier cru. It is always flinty and minerally, with notes of green apple and grapefruit. This is classic Chablis at its best.
