Matured for 18 months in 225-litre barrels, 80% new. Compelling aromatics of cherries, plums, flowers and herbs plus notes of vanilla, chocolate and spice. The palate has plush, luxuriant richness about it with lots of juicy fruit, vibrant acidity and fine tannins. Finishes nicely dry. Alc: 14.64%

Made by a man who understands Pinotage better than anyone, Abrie Beeslaar’s red is good to drink now but will also develop in bottle. Comfortably handling its 80% new wood, it has notes of Asian spices and toast, succulent blackberry and cherry fruit, refreshing acidity and a stony, mineral core.

Winemaker Notes

Bright purple-red color. Bold aromas of plums, blackberries, hints of liquorice and tar, layers of smoke, roasted nuts and rich vanilla on the nose.  The palate is packed with flavors of plums, cherries, black figs, dark chocolate, blackberries and spicy oak. The beautifully integrated plush, creamy tannins with satisfying acidity result in a wonderfully balanced wine with a long finish, promising great maturation potential.
