98pts Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
The 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon has lived up to the early optimism it enjoyed from barrel. A broodingly backward, mountain-styled Cabernet Sauvignon, its level of concentration and formidable mass is admirable. It boasts an inky/purple color along with notes of crème de cassis, blackberries, subtle barbecue smoke and graphite. Full-bodied with sweet tannin and the vintage hallmarks of lusciousness, extravagant richness and depth without being heavy or tiring, this fabulous effort is one of the more drinkable wines from Levy & McClellan to date. It should last for 25-30 years.
Levy & McClellan's 2012 Red Wine is dark, sumptuous and totally compelling from the very first taste. Layered and resonant, the 2012 build beautifully in the glass, showing superb depth to match its radiant personality. The flavors are bold, dark and intense to the core. Raspberry jam, pomegranate, mocha, smoke, mint and leather are all pushed forward in a wine that captures the contemporary style of Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon at its very best.
Profound opaque purple wine with beautiful notes of incense, charcoal embers, blackberry and cassis, coffee, a hint of chocolate and spring flowers. The perfect integration of acidity, tannin, wood and alcohol has resulted in a massive, super-intense, magnificent example of Napa viticulture.
