Massican Annia White 2022 - 750ml
92pts Jeb Dunnuck
The 2022 Annia California White Wine is a blend of 41% Ribolla Gialla, 33% Tocai Friulano, and the rest Chardonnay. In the glass, it pours a bright straw hue and is fresh with aromas of ripe pear, white strawberries, saline, almond, and fresh dewy flowers. Full-bodied, with a supple creamy texture and a rounded mouthfeel, it has notes of candle wax and a long, clean, savory finish with lingering notes of marzipan.
91pts Wine Spectator
Juicy and plump, with peach, mango and tangerine flavors that reveal pretty floral accents of orange blossoms, lemon verbena and ylang-ylang, while notes of white pepper and sea salt minerality linger on the long, fresh finish. 90pts Wine Enthusiast
A unique blend of 41% Ribolla Gialla, 33% Tocai Friulano and 26% Chardonnay, this white has a beautiful springtime feel. Aromas and flavors suggest chamomile and jasmine blossom, citrus zest, wet stone, dewy grass warming under-neath the rising sun, bee pollen and just-ripe yellow peach and peach fuzz. Light- to medium-bodied, the wine offers a slight fizz on the palate, giving it extra energy and verve from start to finish.
Winemaker Notes
Massican's flagship white wine blend sourced from small vineyards around the Napa Valley. The three grape varietals, Tocai Friulano, Ribolla Gialla and Chardonnay, are harvested separately and fermented independently in French Oak and stainless steel tanks until blending six weeks before bottling. The Tocai and Ribolla build the aroma and flavor profile of the wine, while the Chardonnay adds to the wine’s structure. The wine is fresh and subtle and fulfills the promise set forth years ago to bottle memorable white wines, unique amongst the whites of California.

Winery Notes
Massican brings the refreshing, bright style of Mediterranean white wines to California winemaking. At Massican we look back to go forward. Massican is named after Monte Massico (the Massican hills), the coastal mountain range in southern Italy where our founders are from. In California we cultivate six white wine grape varieties in and around Napa Valley and Sonoma County. Four of the grape varieties trace their origins to Italy – Tocai Friulano, Ribolla Gialla, Pinot Bianco and Greco. Two of the grape varieties, although no strangers to Italy, are more widely known throughout the world – Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc. From these California grapes we make four distinct wines, each channeling the Italian style of refreshing Mediterranean white wines.
