Tasting like a mini-Condrieu (at a fraction of the price), the 2020 IGP Pays D'Oc Embruns De Viognier has lots of tangerine and citrus fruit, medium-bodied richness, a beautiful, fresh, yet still rich and classic Viognier texture, and a touch of spice and minerality on the palate. It’s well worth seeking out and should be enjoyed over the coming year.
Winemaker Notes
Sweet peach & marine on the nose, leading to green apple, stone and tropical notes on the palate. It's a lush wine with impressive balance of fruit and minerality. Organic vineyards, cooled by Mediterranean breezes and situated on ancient seabeds provide the depth of minerality and marine essence in the wine. Winemaker Michel Gassier has a deep connection to the land, and is philosophically committed to making terroir-driven wines. 100% Viognier
