Winemaker Notes
The Amalia Chardonnay is notoriously known for its well balanced fruit, acidity, and oak characteristics. The 2021 vintage is no departure, however she is cautiously eager to bare her soul too soon. Cantaloupe and ripe melon welcome the taster. Her crisp acidity and full body mouthfeel saunters through the palate and is perfectly unctuous. Savory enough on its own, this wine would equally complement a thick filet of sea bass or a perfectly seared duck breast.
Representative of their vineyards and true to the style of Amalia Chardonnay, the 2020 vintage carries aromas of tangerines and peaches. Tart lemon curd shines through as the wine approaches the palate and balances effortlessly with a delicate touch of sandalwood and wafts of incense.
Full bodied with a crisp finish, this wine's rich texture pairs beautifully with a variety of foods, particularly seafood risotto with a lemon cream sauce.
