About the WIne
The 2025 Jean-Marie Reverdy & Fils La Villaudière Sancerre Rosé captures a side of Sancerre that remains one of the Loire Valley’s best-kept secrets. While the region is celebrated worldwide for Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Noir has long thrived on these same limestone and flint-laced hillsides, producing rosés of remarkable precision and character. Crafted from 100% Pinot Noir grown on the estate’s calcareous soils near the historic village of Sancerre, this wine reflects generations of family stewardship and a deep understanding of a landscape uniquely suited to wines of elegance and tension.
Every step of the winemaking is designed to preserve freshness and purity. The fruit is harvested at optimal maturity, gently pressed, and fermented at cool temperatures in stainless steel before spending time on its lees to build texture and complexity. The result is a rosé that combines delicacy with substance. A luminous salmon hue introduces aromas of wild strawberry, cherry, red currant, and subtle floral notes, while hints of spice and mineral nuance add layers of intrigue. On the palate, vibrant acidity carries the wine effortlessly, creating a sense of energy that feels both refreshing and remarkably refined.
Winery Notes
Wine runs in the veins of the Reverdy family. For four generations, it has remained inspired by the same values: a hereditary attachment to Val-de-Loire, an instinctive passion for the terroirs and an innate respect for people and work.
Today, Guillaume and Baptiste take over from their father Jean-Marie Reverdy who made the wine estate prosper in Sancerre (18) and Verdigny (18) with his wife Catherine.
