95pts James Suckling
This is really gorgeous, with a dense center palate of sliced apples, flowers, flour, pear skin and flint. Turns to white peaches and apples. Full-bodied yet agile and energetic. Lemons and fresh pears at the end. A beautiful example of this grape variety that has very little to do with the normal pinot grigios out there.
Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
Immediate and fresh, the unoaked Schiopetto 2023 Collio Pinot Grigio opens to a luminous and shiny appearance. It proves easy-drinking and accessible thanks to fragrant tones of white flower, citrus, tea leaf and honey. This is your classic go-to wine for a hot summer afternoon. Production is 30,000 bottles.
Tasting Notes
The aroma is fresh and inviting, with notes of banana and passion fruit. On the palate, as terroir, with an intriguing freshness that gives drinkability and complexity. Very persistent and consistent taste to the nose.
Wine Notes
The wine obtained from Pinot Grigio grapes, a vine of French origin grown on hills, in medium marly soils. It produces small bunches with round red-grey berries and, like Pinot Blanc, derives from the bud mutation of Pinot Noir. The harvest is accompanied by soft pressing followed by a short period of decantation in the total absence of sulfur dioxide. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks with addition of pied de cuve at a controlled temperature, while aging takes place on the lees for 8 months.
