Winemaker's Notes
This wine has a classic Russian River Valley profile, expressing bright flavors of tart cherry, candied pomegranate, rhubarb and fresh anise. The push-and-pull between zingy acidity and an opulent midpalate create a texture that builds in layers on the palate. “The Burnside vineyard is planted on a rolling hillside in the AVA’s signature Goldridge soil. These vines are buffeted with the coastal fog each that rolls in each night, only to be chased away by morning breezes. Afternoon warmth then coaxes out the ripe body and fresh fruit notes that make this wine such a pleasure to sip.”
Vineyard Notes
The growing season is remarkably chilly in the Sonoma Coast’s breezy Sebastopol Hills. Here, Burnside Vineyard sits atop a ridge, exposed to cool marine air from the Pacific. Red Goldridge soils mark this parcel as a superb Pinot Noir site, with a hillside orientation bending to the east for early morning sun exposure. Burnside is an extremely low-yielding site producing very small, intensely flavored berries.About the Wine
A spectacular new addition to Tamber Bey’s Vineyard Series portfolio. The 2022 Burnside Vineyards Pinot Noir is the first single-vineyard-designated red Burgundy to be included in this collection of wines.
